Asking a question increases opens by 20%, while it\u2019s only 12% if you forego the question marks.<\/p>\n<p>Even emojis can help your survey email marketing, as emojis have an open rate of 20%. With enough practice, you can begin eyeballing what 60 characters look like and tweak your messages.<\/p>\n<p>However, as you edit, remember not to sacrifice clarity in the name of brevity. If your subject line has too many elements and you can\u2019t fully explain them, narrow it down.<\/p>\n<p>For example, rather than saying, \u201cTake our socioecological study and help us out; due 7\/9, more information,\u201d write, \u201cWill you take our ecological survey? Due 7\/9!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A subject line doesn\u2019t have to achieve everything. Its job is merely to warm up a reader for what\u2019s to come in the email. That\u2019s where they\u2019ll expect to see the full details.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Personalization<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Survey email subject lines benefit from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engagebay.com\/blog\/email-sequence-personalization\/\">personalization<\/a>. Then, it\u2019s just a matter of convincing them to complete your survey.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Urgency<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You\u2019re surveying your target audience to propel your small business forward. Maybe you just hosted an event and want to hear what the attendees thought. Perhaps you\u2019re brainstorming a new product or service and want to know how much need and interest your target market has.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the purpose and goal, you don\u2019t have forever to wait for survey responses. However, the key here is to go sparingly with both.<\/p>\n<p>For example, let\u2019s look at a last-call email survey subject line: \u201cSurvey Deadline Is TONIGHT! Have You Completed Yours Yet?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Capitalizing the word \u201ctonight\u201d underscores its significance. That\u2019s the word the recipient\u2019s eye will naturally drift to first because it\u2019s capitalized. However, that\u2019s the most important word in the entire subject line, so it\u2019s fine that you capitalized it, as that\u2019s the takeaway the recipient will walk away with.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s rewrite it just for the sake of example. \u201cSurvey DEADLINE Is TONIGHT! Have YOU Completed Yours Yet?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, there are three capitalized words that have changed their importance. As a result, the first sentence means less, although capitalizing \u201cyou\u201d in the second sentence is a nice touch.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Numbers<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Writing survey email subject lines is very numbers-driven. From your email introducing the survey to recurring reminders and last-minute messages, you should consistently mention the deadline and other relevant numbers in your email&#8217;s subject line.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll recall that emails with numbers usually have a higher open rate, which will benefit you nicely.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Emojis<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>That\u2019s right, I\u2019m <em>recommending <\/em>you use emojis. Strange, right?<\/p>\n<p>Not really. Like capitalization and punctuation, if you are careful when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engagebay.com\/blog\/email-emojis\/\">using emojis in email<\/a> subject lines, they can be a valuable asset in driving better open rates.<\/p>\n<p>The question I\u2019m sure you have is which types of emojis are okay for survey email subject lines?
