ChatGPT calls the tools on your behalf and shows what it is doing. What it can read and change reflects the permissions of the EngageBay user who authorizes the connection.
How to connect EngageBay to ChatGPT
Enable Developer mode
Custom MCP connectors are available through Developer mode on eligible plans. Open Settings → Connectors → Advanced settings and switch Developer mode on. In Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin may need to allow it first.
Create the connector
Back in Settings → Connectors, choose Create. Set the name to EngageBay, add a short description, and choose OAuth for authentication.
Paste the MCP server URL
Enter the EngageBay MCP server URL, confirm that you trust the application, then select Create.

ChatGPT sends you to EngageBay to authorize the connection. Sign in with your EngageBay account and approve access.
Use it in a chat
Start a new chat, open the + menu (or the Developer mode tools) and select EngageBay. Menu labels can vary slightly between workspaces.

Frequently asked questions
Custom MCP connectors are offered through Developer mode on eligible ChatGPT plans. Availability depends on your plan and workspace settings, so check with your ChatGPT admin.
Only within the permissions you grant. ChatGPT can create and update contacts, companies, deals, tasks and appointments when your connection has the matching write permission, and products are read only. It cannot delete anything — no EngageBay MCP tool deletes records, and no permission grants deletion.
