What this tool does
Every timestamp the MCP server returns — a contact's created date, a deal's close date — is in UTC. That's precise, but it isn't what “today” or “this week” means to you if your account isn't set to UTC. Without knowing your account's actual timezone, a date-based question can be off by up to a day near midnight in either direction.
get_account_info returns your account's timezone, along with the company name, website, currency, and clock format (12-hour or 24-hour) on file. Your assistant uses the timezone to correctly translate a relative phrase like “today” or “last week” into the UTC range that a filter actually needs.
This is read once, not on every question. Account settings like timezone rarely change, so your assistant typically checks this once per conversation rather than before every date-based request.
What you can ask
“What timezone is our account set to?”
“How many contacts did we add today?” — get_account_info supplies the timezone context this needs to be accurate.
“What's our account's default currency?”
